A native of Augusta, Georgia, Charles became a network administrator for a home health care company after his graduation from Georgia Southern University.  He subsequently joined a large regional accounting firm, initially focusing on accounting and network systems, before establishing EDTS -- which then was an acronym for Elliott Davis Technology Solutions -- as a free-standing technology solutions provider.

In 2009, Charles purchased the accounting firm's interest in EDTS, retaining the name but imparting new meaning: Experience, Dedication, Technology and Solutions. Today's EDTS has nearly 30 professional employees and was recently named to Inc. Magazine's list of America's 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for 2010.

An entrepreneur at heart, Charles is active in several regional business and civic organizations, and a coach of several youth sports.
